Drop Shippers and eBay
I paid for a report on eBay that promised to make me rich by drop shipping.
Drop shipping is the act of selling items that you don't hold in inventory, you are simply the front guy. After you sell them (for example, on an auction) you then forward the shipping information to the company and they "drop ship" the product to the customer directly, charge you a wholesale price and then you take the difference as profit.
Problem is, the real drop shippers only deal with large commercial clients. Many, many drop shippers do business with individuals online, but many of them charge so many fees and so forth that the profit margin is too small or non-existent. It simply was too hard to coordinate and the profit possibility was not realistic after everything was said and done.
Frequently, this is the method described in “eBay money machine” reports and booklets you see pitched online.
